In a recent interview, Suniel Shetty revealed that he had first met his son-in-law, KL Rahul, at an airport in 2019 and that they had learned they both came from the same hometown, Mangalore. Later on, Shetty found out that Rahul and his daughter, Athiya Shetty, were already on friendly terms. At Khandala, in Suniel’s ancestral farmhouse, the couple exchanged vows on January 23, 2023.

Suniel Shetty discussed Kumite 1 Warrior Hunt, India’s first MMA reality series, during his presence on The Kapil Sharma Show. He also spoke about his daughter’s recent marriage to KL Rahul, stating that he had met the cricketer before being aware that he was already familiar with Athiya. Rahul’s parents’ residence in Mangalore is close to Shetty’s birthplace, which is another lucky coincidence that Shetty learned about.

According to a Mid-Day story, Suniel Shetty described his first encounter with KL Rahul, saying, “Rahul and I had the pleasure of first meeting at an airport. When I learned that he was from my hometown of Mangalore, I was overjoyed. I already liked him, so I was pleased to see him succeed. Athiya and my wife Mana exchanged stares as I told them the news, but they didn’t say much. Later, Mana told me that Athiya and Rahul had already established communication.”

Shetty continued to be surprised, saying, “I was surprised that Athiya hadn’t brought it up sooner. Yet, I was happy because I had always urged her to make friends with South Indian men. It was also a wonderful coincidence to learn that my birthplace, Mulki, is only a few miles from Rahul’s parents’ house in Mangalore.”

For Hera Pheri 3, Suniel Shetty will work once more with Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. The movie’s shoot will begin in three months, according to Paresh Rawal, who just filmed a promo announcement for the movie in Mumbai. In the third film of the well-liked comic franchise, Raju, Shyam, and Babu Bhaiyya will be seen traveling abroad.
