South African Rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes dead: South African rapper Kiernan Forbes, known professionally AKA, has been shot dead in Durban, South Africa. He was 35 years old. Police confirmed that AKA was fatally shot outside a popular night spot on Florida Road, Durban.

AKA was shot while standing on the sidewalk. KwaZulu-Natal police spokesman Robert Ntshiunda told the outlet, “I can confirm that two people have been killed and one of them is a famous rapper. Police will not release the names of the victims until the full investigation is complete.” Gareth Jamieson, a spokesman for ALS paramedics, said that both men had been shot and that despite efforts to save one of them, he succumbed to his injuries.

Rapper AKA was set to take the stage in Durban on Friday. His highly-anticipated album, “Mass Country,” is set to drop on February 27th.
