Twitter Staff Layoffs: Musk will reduce Twitter’s staff by 50%, Blue check mark verification will cost $8.

Elon Musk will slash headcount by 50% to cut costs.
According to Bloomberg Musk will reverse Twitter’s current work-from-anywhere policy and intends to require staff to work from offices.
Currently, Twitter has around 7500 employees around the globe, slashing the headcount by half means 3750 people working for Twitter. Twitter will lay off its 50% staff.
Just after taking over Twitter, Elon Musk fired a bunch of Top shots including former CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, General Counsel Sean Edgett, and Head of Legal Policy, Trust and Safety Vijaya Gadde. As per reports, Elon Musk is thinking to bring in a Tesla think tank to help him with Twitter.
According to Bloomberg, the impacted employees could be given 60 days of severance pay.
However, Elon Musk has not made any statement regarding the layoffs.
Today Elon Musk made a tweet saying Twitter has a lot of room for improvement.
Obtaining the coveted blue checkmark on Twitter may soon change, however, currently, the verification is free.

Elon Musk said that Twitter will start charging $8 per month for blue check mark verification. He also said that “We need to pay the bills somehow! Twitter cannot rely entirely on advertisers, the monthly fee would also offer users priority in replies, mention and search, the ability to post long videos and audio, and half as many ads”.
There are a lot of users like Trevor Noah who are angry over the verification cost for Twitter accounts.
