Barbara was born on 25th September 1929 in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S. Her full name is Barbara Jill Walters. If we talk about her parents, Her Father’s name is Lou Walters, and her mother’s name is Dena. Her parents were Jewish. During her childhood, her father Lou Walters was the manager at Latin Quarter nightclub in Boston. He also worked as a Broadway producer and he also worked as an entertainment director at Tropicana Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Barbara did her initial Schooling till 5th standard at Lawrence School in Brookline, Massachusetts. After this, her family moved to Miami, then moved to New York City, and then again moved back to Miami. Later she went to New York City and attended Birch Wathen School. In the year 1947, she graduated from Birch Wathen School. She earned a degree in Bachelor of Arts in English from Sarah Lawrence College in Yonkers, New York. Her bachelor’s degree in English helped her in her career building.

Barbara Walters started her career working for a small advertising company but left that within a year and joined The Morning Show in 1955 as a writer. Her first initial success came in the year 1961 when she joined NBC’s The Today Show as a researcher and writer. After this, she used to cover light stories for the show “Today Girl”.With her efforts, within a year she became a full-fledged reporter and used to develop, edit and edit her own reports and interviews.
